Working with PWUD (people who use drugs): Overdose Prevention and Response

Summary:
This introductory course covers the basics of overdose prevention and response through harm reduction principles. Instead of demanding immediate abstinence, harm reduction focuses on reducing the negative consequences of drug use and keeping people alive. Participants will learn about prevention for overdose as well as how to respond in the case of an emergency. Participants will also learn about harm reduction basics and how they can incorporate these strategies into their everyday practice.
Liz Beale, Director of Education and Technical Assistance with the New Hampshire Harm Reduction Coalition will present on addiction, harm reduction, resources in the state along with demonstrating naloxone administration.
