Stefanie Bourassa, PT, DPT, is a sports medicine expert, clinician, researcher, and strategic leader dedicated to revolutionizing athlete health, performance, and injury prevention. With a career deeply rooted in high-performance sports medicine, she seamlessly blends cutting-edge clinical expertise, leadership, and advocacy to drive innovation in rehabilitation and athlete care.
As a director for the APTA National Board of Directors, Stefanie is shaping the future of physical therapy governance, membership engagement, and clinical care models. She is a visionary in sports medicine, developing and implementing evidence-based best practices across orthopedics, rehabilitation, and advocacy.
Stefanie oversees an interdisciplinary team of sports physical therapists, athletic trainers, biomechanists, strength and conditioning coaches, sports dietitians, and clinical psychologists, championing a holistic, athlete-centered care model. She is also the creator of the Acute Illness and Injury Management Certification in collaboration with the Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation, where learners apply emergency management principles through immersive, hands-on simulations of real-life scenarios.
Beyond the clinic, Stefanie cohosts an athlete health and performance podcast, engaging with top experts across sports science and medicine to advance evidence-based care.
